Kaikkihan meistä lontoota osaa, niin en vaivautunut suomentamaan erästä ulkomaiselle foorumille lähetettyä postia
Here´s my new pack. I will be mostly using it as a "truck ruck"; throw it in the back of a car, truck or APC..
However, i wanted it to be as comfortable as possible to carry long distances, so i gave it generous padding in the backpanel, and also, there´s an option of using a wide hip belt (which goes under the piece of padding in the lower part of the backpanel and attaches with velcro) I just haven´t had the time or need to make that hip belt yet..
The capacity is something like 40 liters. maybe even a bit more.. But although it looks quite huge when stuffed to th e max, the 6 compression straps allow me to cinch it down pretty flat.. Actually, for the last week i have been using it as a daypack, and it has performed quite well in that task.
It has one big main compartment, a hydration bladder/laptop compartment, upper front cargo pocket, lower front cargo pocket, and a "stash pocket" behind the lower front cargo pocket. Also, there are sleeve pockets (a´la RAID pack) on both sides, which can be opened from the bottom, if i need to put something through it..
Oh, there´s also a small zippered pocket in the face of the upper front cargo pocket.
The hydration/laptop compartment (and no, i´m not planning on using it for hydration bladder AND the laptop at the same time)
About 90% of the time, i will use this for carrying laptop or paperwork, so i didn´t make a port for the hose of the bladder.. I´ll just run it though the zipper pulls.
In the picture, you´ll see my 13,3" laptop which is inside it´s padded sleeve and it fits without any problems.. So i think it might probably take a 15,4" as well. There´s also a sleeve for frame sheet (velcro closure, under the laptop)
Main compartment.. A zippered mesh pocket and a bigger, document sleeve.. The PALS in the backpanel is for MSM´s "small patch panel".
Upper front cargo pocket.. A zippered mesh pocket, and sleeve pocket with elastic on top of it
Lower cargo pocket. The other wall is lined with velcro, on the other wall, there´s a big zippered mesh pocket.. There are 4 loops for a stiff divider panel (which you can see in the picture), that i took from my previous 3DAP
Side cargo pouches that i made specifically for this pack. about 25cm tall
The current setup.. That´s a TT´s horizontal GP pouch attached to the pack.. At first i was thinking of making similar ones myself, but those TT´s pouches are so cheap that there really is no point for me to use time to make them.. It´s easier just to buy them. The pockets in question are 4 pals wide, but because i made the Pals on top of the sleeve pockets a bit wider than normally, it can easily take the TT´s pouch
This was yet another good learning project.. It was my 4th pack, and i have to say; i´m pretty happy with it.
Comments and criticism are welcome..
Ja että paljonko meni aikaa? No ihan %#¤%¤#%¤&&
