Hei, olen amerikkalainen
Moi,
Olen Michael B., ja oon amerikasta (Etelä Carolinasta). 22v. Vielä koulussa. Naimisissa kesäkuun lopussa. Asun Jyväskylässä.
Now in English. So yes, I'm from America. I've been living in Finland for 4 years. My background in "geardo" lies in medieval history. I collect armor and weaponry, though not so much since I've moved to Finland. I have a crusader kit and a few others planned, but they have been put on hold until I can get a lot of spare change and a bigger place. Since in Finland, I've taken up airsoft, which has lead to my modern geardo interests.
My dad was in the army when I was younger, and he has been in the USAFR (reserves) since I was young, and his main job is a federal police officer, but he is a firearms instructor as opposed to the normal patrol cop. So I have an extensive background in US military stuff as well as firearms. Most of my US kit comes from my dad, so I am quite fortunate in that respect. Also, because his main job is in a US Army base and his reserve work is in an Air Force base, I have good access to most Army and AF gear (body armor and the like is a different story...), so again, I'm quite lucky in those respects.
As with my medieval background, I'm a bit OCD in that my kits have to look realistic or somewhat believable. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing flecktarn while using ALICE gear. I don't care about things being real deal as long as they look the business.
My current kits, in various forms of completion:
-Bundeswehr - 99% complete, waiting on a holster and some new mag pouches. I use a standard G36 (not real, of course) and a USP. As a side note, H&K are my favourite weapon manufacturer. And the BW kit is my favourite, by far.
-US infantry/army, possibly US Air Force infantry-based, 1980's-2000's - maybe 75% complete. I have the steel pot helmet and a PASGT helmet, I'm looking into some PASGT body armor and an LBV. The rest is good to go. Most of my gear is from my dad, so this kit was an easy build for me. I still need an M16, M92, WL Interceptor and a bayonet.
-US Air Force infantry kit, modern - 25% complete. All I have is the ABU's, a MICH, and some various other things, like an ABU hat and tan boots. I need: ACU Interceptor and pouches.
Kits I'm interesting in building:
-WW2 US Army infantry.
-US Marines infantry, modern
-SWAT/tactical operations kit.
That's all.

Re: Hei, olen amerikkalainen
Welcome to the board. I hope you enjoy it here and find the answers you are looking for. I'm also curious to see your setups, so when you see fit, please post some pics in "Henkilögalleria" area.

It was about the time for you to register here homie but welcome anyway
Re: Hei, olen amerikkalainen
Haha, I laughed my ass off when I saw the topic. It's like at an AA -meeting people asking what's your problem "Hi, I'm an American" "Awwwww..., we feel you bro" . I hope you have a great time over here and I'm waiting to see your pics!
Re: Hei, olen amerikkalainen
I'll try to post some pics soon. I don't like posting incomplete stuff so it may be a few weeks...

Right attitude. Complete and the post. Just for a note that "Henkilögalleriat" doesn't require complete kit, it's up to you. Full Spectrum on the other hand is the place for the complete and accurate impressions.Lionheart kirjoitti:I'll try to post some pics soon. Re: Hei, olen amerikkalainen
Hei, just a hint...: Bundeswehr does NOT use USP. The P8 is based on the USP but has some modifications like a different safety lever and changed trigger system .
If you need Bw stuff, I'm probably able to help you out . I have sources for most real Bw gear, especially, the special forces stuff.

Well damn... Oh well. I've never seen a fake P8 so it will have to work for now.
